You would think that living in the high desert would make people more aware of how fragile the world around us is. Maybe it has on some but most of the people living and visiting Phoenix seem to treat the desert environment just like they treat their home environment. Worse, some seem determined to import much of that home environment into the area, disrupting the natural order and cycles that make the desert unique.

Fewer visitors are traveling Kenya since the polls closed on 27 December, 2007 sparking waves of protests some of which turned violent.
